In July of 2006, I had to make an unexpected emergency trip to Rock Springs, Wyoming for my grandmotherŐs funeral. My brothers attended as well and while we were there, we went to Pilot Butte, outside Rock Springs, as we were very familiar with it and know that there was a benchmark and GeoCache on top of it. I was born ad raised in this area and on this terrain, so it was good to be back there again with my brothers. Here are the pictures....

Just as a note here, Pilot Butte is an ancient volcano that is now a rock formation that rises about 1000 feet above the surrounding desert. Be sure to read the Journal entry for the details. Just look for the entry on July 24, 2006.
